Building a Career with Asian Languages

How does the study of Asian languages open up career opportunities?

This panel will showcase how Asian language training is useful and relevant across a wide variety of professions, from government to journalism.

We will explore the professional opportunities available to Asian language majors, then hear from graduates on how their Asian language major shaped their career paths. Afterwards, there will be a Q&A session with the speakers.

Join us to find out where studying Asian languages can take you!

Panellists:

  • Louise Edwards, Emeritus Professor, UNSW

  • Primrose Riordan, South China Correspondent, Financial Times, Hong Kong

  • Greg Ralph, Minister-Counsellor Political, Australian Embassy Tokyo

  • Francis Wong, 2nd Secretary Political, Australian Embassy Tokyo
